BUS 2013 Social Networking 3 hours credit A general study of how social networking can benefit non-profit organization when they are included in the marketing scheme.
BUS 3013 Economics 3 hours credit This course is a presentation of basic mathematic principles that are commonly utilized in business economics. Differentiation and integration of elementary functions are studied with applications drawn primarily from the fields of business and economics.
BUS 3023 Fundraising 3 hours credit A study of fundraising, with specific attention paid to fundraising for non-profit organizations. As part of this course, students will be able to assist in planning a major fundraising event with the college.
BUS 4013 Grantwriting 3 hours credit A study of Grant Writing, with specific attention paid to non-profit grants. As part of this course, students will be required to write a grant proposal as a part of the course.
BUS 4023 Business Administration & Leadership 3 hours credit This course is a presentation of basic business principles needed for administrating and leading various types ministry, including accounting principles, business planning, human resources, and business ethics.
BUS 4033 Event Planning 3 hours credit A study of event planning with an emphasis on the application of studied materials. As part of this course, students will be required to assist in planning a major fundraising event with the college.
COM 4013 Rhetoric 3 hours credit A general study of rhetoric, including the ability to speak and write effectively and persuasively.
COM 4023 Homiletics 3 hours credit This Practicum will provide students with an opportunity to increase their communication skills. Study will focus on Biblical Exegesis for preaching as well as explore the form and function of a well-prepared sermon. Students will learn how to balance humor with content for insightful and relevant delivery of Godly, inspired messages.
ENG 1013 Grammar & Composition for Theology 3 hours credit A general study of grammar and composition for theological writing, including an introduction to logic and rhetoric.
ENG 1023 Research & Writing for Theology 3 hours credit A general study of research and writing in theological studies at the undergraduate level.
FIT 2012 Health & Fitness for Life 2 hours credit A general study of health and fitness for life, with special emphasis on keeping track of daily activities that will enable a healthy lifestyle.
GRK 2013 Greek Exegesis 1 & 2 3/3 hours credit GRK 3013 In this course the student will be introduced to exegetical, hermeneutical, and contextual practices of studying the New Testament. An integral component of this process will be learning fundamental aspects of Biblical Greek, including word studies, lexical studies, and translation of specific passages. Several books of the New Testament will be examined. Students will be asked to examine difficult passages and explain their interpretation/translation based on their study of the language and supporting Scripture.

HST 2023 Church History 1 3 hours credit This course is intended to introduce the student to the general history of the church and the Christian faith from the Early Church to the Reformation.
HST 3013 U.S. History & Government 2 3 hours credit This course is an introduction to American History (1914-1989) through a focus on such topics as the World Wars, Presidential policies and the modern state of the government.
HST 3023 Church History 2 3 hours credit This course is intended to introduce the student to the more in-depth history of the church and the Christian faith from the Reformation to the present.
LIT 3013 Cultural Thought of Western Civilization 1 2 hours credit This is the first of three courses as an introduction to the great works of literature, philosophy, theology, science, history, and politics essential to the classical Christian liberal arts education.

MIN 1013 Ministry Essentials 3 hours credit This course is a study of the essentials of ministry that can be applied to any ministerial leadership capacity or vocation.
MIN 3013 Missions & Outreach 3 hours credit This course continues the guided instruction in topics relating to missions and outreach in ministry including evangelism, cultural anthropology, and new methods of local and global missions.
MIN 4013 Pastoral Theology 3 hour credit Pastoral Theology is a study of the calling, ministry, and theology of pastoral ministry. This course will explore the daily work and responsibilities of the pastoral overseer. There will be an emphasis on the minister’s spiritual health, character, and leadership so that ministers may effectively care for those in their trust.
MUS 1000 Collegium Musicum .5 hour credit Collegium Musicum is a fine arts course that uses both lecture and musical performance as instructional tools. During each semester selections are performed by participants from one of the stylistic periods (Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Twentieth Century, or Post-Modern) as well as traditional and contemporary hymns, gospel songs, and praise & worship music. All students of the college are expected to enroll every semester with a minimum of 6 semester required for graduation. This course may be repeated for credit.
MUS 1033 Music Theory 1 3 hours credit This course progresses from the fundamentals of writing and analyzing music through an elementary understanding of melody, harmonic progression, musical structure and style. The student is expected to have rudimentary familiarity with the keyboard and will begin a process toward proficiency in keyboard harmony. This is an interactive course in which the student develops beginning to elementary musical abilities such as sight singing, melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic dictation. Special attention is given to developing techniques on how to listen and aurally analyze all genres of music.

MUS 2013 Conducting 3 hours credit This practicum will provide students with an opportunity to increase their ensemble leadership skills. Study will focus on musical preparation for leadership and the technique of conducting. Students will learn how to confidently interpret the wishes of the original composer or artist as well as lead in spontaneous settings.
MUS 3013 Vocal Music Performance 3 hours credit This course is an introduction to the basic principles of vocal performance and health.
MUS 4013 Christian Music History 3 hours credit This course is a study of Christian Music History to help worship leaders prepare and lead worship within the historical context of the Christian church.
MUS 4023 Worship Leadership 3 hours credit This course is an introduction to the basic principles of worship leadership within the church or congregational context.
NTS 1013 New Testament History & Literature 3 hours credit This course will provide an overview of the literary, historical, geographical, and religious dimensions of the New Testament. Special attention is given to the following subjects: the historical setting (political, social, and religious) of first century Palestine; the Gospels, focusing upon the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection; the growth of the new church as found in Acts; the ministry of Paul through his missionary journeys and epistles; the challenges of opposition from the Roman Empire, pagan culture, and the Jews; the continued delay of the return of Jesus Christ; and the rise of the second generation of leaders within the church. All study will be completed with a view towards application of principles discovered to each person’s life in the world today.
NTS 1023 Synoptic Gospels 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Synoptic Gospels – Mathew, Mark, and Luke. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. The course emphasizes the Person and Work of Christ; the student should gain a mastery of factual content and structure of the books. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 1033 Johanine Literature 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Johanine Literature – John, 1 John, 2 John, 3 John. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. This course emphasizes an analytical and exegetical approach. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 1043 Acts 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Book of Acts. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. A study of the history, teaching practices, and missionary expansion of the early church as presented in the Book of Acts. Special attention is given to the discussion and application of appropriate hermeneutical principles for the interpretation of historical narrative with the goal of understanding the book’s contributions to biblical theology. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 3073 Pauline Epistles 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Pauline Epistles – Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Colossians. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. Particular emphasis is given to the relation of Christ to the Church. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 3083 Pastoral Epistles 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Pastoral Epistles – 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus, and Philemon. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. The instructions Paul gave to ministers concerning governing the church are explored. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 3093 General Epistles 3 hours credit This course is a study of the General Epistles: Hebrews, James, 1st and 2nd Peter. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. This course emphasizes an analytical and exegetical approach. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 4053 Romans 3 hours credit This course will go through the book of Romans and explore the great themes of redemption: the guilt of all mankind, our inability to find favor with God, the redeeming work of Christ, and the free gift of salvation to be received by faith alone. Students will be encouraged to explore the development of profound theological truths contained in the book of Romans. Students will be challenged to find practical applications of these truths.
NTS 4063 I & II Corinthians 3 hours credit This course is a study of 1st and 2nd Corinthians. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. This course emphasizes an analytical and exegetical approach. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
NTS 4103 Eschaton Epistles 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Eschaton Epistles – 1 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians, and Revelation. Attention is paid to the historical background and literary shape of each book, and special emphasis on its theological message and canonical function. Students are exposed to all the existing views on Revelation. Historical and Futuristic interpretation principles are examined, and special emphasis is given to the letters to the seven churches. Pre-requisite: NTS 1013.
OTS 1013 Old Testament History & Literature 3 hours credit This course will provide an overview of the literary, historical, geographical, and religious dimensions of the Old Testament. The approach used is intended to give a general but complete view of the entire Old Testament period. Students will be guided to an understanding of God’s hand in the lives and history of His people, which will lead to self-examination of Biblical faith and learning in relation to daily life and individual purpose.
OTS 1023 Pentateuch 3 hours credit An intensive study, this course will examine the historical significance, revelation, and narrative integrity of the Pentateuch. The student will explore the theme of each book as well as theological subjects throughout the Pentateuch.
OTS 3033 Old Testament Historical Books 3 hours credit This course is a study of the Old Testament Historical books from Joshua to Esther. PCD 1013 Christian Discipleship & Discipline 3 hours credit This course is intended to teach models of discipleship and the classic Christian disciplines by practice, honest discussion and a willing vulnerability.
PCD 1023 Pastoral Care & Ethics 3 hours credit Pastoral Care consists of guided instruction in topics relating to the caring functions of pastoral ministry and communication in ministry settings, as well as guided instruction in topics relating to the caring functions of pastoral ministry with the addition of the ethical responsibilities of those in the caring professions. Students will be exposed to a broad overview of issues related to spiritual care of others. Much of this course will be practical application of the information learned in class.

PHL 2013 Ethics 2 hours credit This course is an introduction to ethics beginning with biblical approaches to the study and practice of ethics, logical argument methodology, aspects of virtue and vice, proper and logical methods of decision making, and biblical responses to the various ethical dilemmas present in our culture today.
PHL 4013 Apologetics 3 hours credit This course is designed to introduce the student to a breadth of knowledge about sharing and defending Biblical faith. This course will specifically cover the tough questions that haunt humanity. The methodology will be interactive lecture, and writing response papers on a subject dealing with apologetics.
PRX 1015 Practicum .5 hour credit PRX 1025 Practicum focuses on the student’s role in relating to the specified field, PRX 2015 work environment, culture and Christian community. This course PRX 3015 consists of preparing a learning contract to be used in guiding and PRX 4025 evaluating a professional internship. Students will be instructed in how PRX 4045 to prepare the learning contract and will meet with both a faculty supervisor and professional supervisor to tailor the internship to the student’s individual needs. The contract will delineate the objectives, strategies, and resources used throughout the internship process. Approved faculty supervisor, professional supervisor, and field setting are required. This course may be repeated for credit.

PRX 4011 Senior Colloquium 1 & 2 1 hour credit PRX 4021 Senior Colloquium is first capstone course of Praxis Bible College’s Curricula. Students will be guided in the preparation of their senior portfolio (to accompany their senior project). They will be exposed to topics and speakers of interest to graduating seniors looking toward their future vocations.
PRX 4015 Senior Thesis 1 & 2 .5 hour credit PRX 4035 Senior Thesis is the second capstone course of Praxis Bible College’s Curricula. Students will be guided in the preparation of their senior integrative written and orally defended thesis.
SCI 3013 Science &Theology 1: Origins 3 hours credit This course is a study of creation and the flood from a scientific perspective. Topics include comparison and contrast with evolutionary theory, the Biblical-literal creation, the pre-diluvian age, the flood and its consequences. Support is provided for the flood and literal creation as presented in Genesis from geology, biology, physics, cosmology, and astronomy.
SCI 4023 Science & Theology 2: Bioethics 3 hours credit This course draws upon the field of bioethics to address such issues as: genetic determinism vs. human freedom; cloning, euthanasia, abortion, and the sanctity of life; and other ethical issues raised by the Human Genome Project. Students will have the opportunity to develop a theological and spiritual grounding for responding to the world, human nature, and the ethics of responsibility.
THG 1012 Theology of Worship 1 2 hours credit Theology of Worship 1 is an introduction to the theology of worship and practical applications of this theology. This course includes a study of the Biblical foundations of worship, the historical development of worship, music and arts in worship, and the services of the Christian year. THG 1013 Theology of Personal Ministry 2 hours credit This course addresses internal belief systems that affect how we do ministry. It is a broad overview of spiritual and life principles and psychological information used for character development but can be especially helpful for those going into ministry.
